Mojokerto, Al-Amin – Al-Amin IIBS organized a series of activities to commemorate National Santri Day. The series of activities began with a khotmil Quran the day before, followed by a National Santri Day commemoration ceremony and various competitions participated in by the santri, which took place on Thursday (10/22/26).
The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere as a moment to reflect on the struggles of the ulama and santri in defending Indonesia’s independence. This commemoration also serves as a reminder of the importance of the santri’s role in upholding Islamic values and making positive contributions to society and the nation.
In the ceremony’s address, a message was conveyed regarding the true essence of being a santri—one that extends beyond life at the pesantren to include character development and the practical application of knowledge.
“Being a santri is not merely about living at the pesantren, reciting the Quran daily, or wearing modest Islamic attire. More importantly, being a santri is about developing a person who is knowledgeable and devout, acts upon that knowledge, possesses noble character, is disciplined, responsible, and ready to benefit anyone,” read the message delivered in the address.
After the ceremony, the series of commemorative events continued with various competitions that added to the festive atmosphere. These activities served as a platform for the students to develop their creativity, strengthen their sense of community, and foster a spirit of sportsmanship.
Through the celebration of National Santri Day, Al-Amin IIBS hopes that the students will continue to emulate the struggles of the ulama and grow into a generation that is knowledgeable, possesses noble character, and is beneficial to religion, society, and the nation.
