Mojokerto, Al-Amin – Five students from the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School (MTs) enlivened the opening of the 2026 Islamic Education Fair (IEF) with a performance of the Sorote Lintang Dance at Royal Plaza Surabaya on Wednesday (September 30, 2026). This event was part of the IEF 2026 series, which ran until October 4, 2026.

The five students who performed were Siti Amirotin Khafidhoh, grade VII; Eshal Nur Naa'ilah, grade IX; Keysha Nirmala, grade VIII; Ayda Eiliyah Nurinsani, grade VIII; and Arindah Dzakira Zahra, grade IX.

The performance had been prepared for approximately one month. For Siti Amirotin Khafidhoh, or Fifid, the opportunity to perform on the IEF stage was her first experience. She admitted to being both excited and nervous about performing the Sorote Lintang Dance.

"I was happy and nervous. The most difficult challenge for me was maintaining my energy while dancing," said Fifid.

Meanwhile, Keysha admitted that the performance left a special impression. She felt proud to experience her first time performing on such a grand and festive stage.

Besides being part of the opening ceremony of IEF 2026, the Sorote Lintang Dance performance provided a platform for students to introduce local arts and culture to the community.

The Head of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School, Ustadz Hanafi, stated that the students' involvement in dance is one way to contribute to preserving local culture.

"Through dance, Al-Amin students are helping to preserve and promote local culture," he said.
