Mojokerto, Al-Amin – Another student at the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School has achieved a proud achievement. Ghazafran Savero Evzen Maliq, a seventh-grade student, won a Bronze Medal at the 2026 KONI Mojokerto Regency Pencak Silat Championship, held in Dawarblandong on Monday (August 31, 2026).
Evzen won third place in the Pre-Teen Pencak Silat Art category in the single empty-handed event. This achievement was made even more special by the fact that he competed against approximately 225 participants.
Evzen expressed both joy and surprise at his achievement. "I'm happy and surprised that out of approximately 225 participants, I managed to win third place," he said.
His interest in pencak silat has grown since he was in fifth grade. He said that a common challenge in the art event is remembering the sequence of movements.
"Sometimes the challenge is forgetting the next move. Therefore, you have to be physically and mentally strong, and you can't be lazy about practicing," he said.
Evzen's main motivation for participating in various competitions is to achieve success and continue developing his skills in the art of pencak silat. He is determined to continue competing in future competitions.
"I want to bring the name of Al-Amin to the provincial championship," he said.
Evzen admitted that he was inspired by his father, who is also a silat coach. He hopes this achievement will motivate other students to dare to develop their talents, continue practicing, and never give up on achieving their dreams.
