Mojokerto, Al-Amin – Students from the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School (Islamic Senior High School), Meysila Azzahra and Nazila Nur Izza, once again achieved a proud achievement. Two 12th-grade D students, Meysila Azzahra and Nazila Nur Izza, won Favorite Poster and Bronze Medals in the SORE Competition 2 (Scientific Olympiad Research Essay), organized by PRISMA in collaboration with the Forestry Cultivation Student Association of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta, August 29–30, 2026.
This achievement was achieved through extensive preparation. Meysila and Nazila spent approximately three months preparing for the competition, with nine days dedicated to composing their work, perfecting their posters, and practicing their presentations. Preparations took place in between their busy schedules, including evenings and holidays.
Their posters highlighted technological innovations in shrimp cultivation that have the potential to increase yields. They utilized Canva and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create them.
Both expressed their delight at this achievement. Furthermore, this competition provided valuable experience, as they had previously qualified for several competitions.
The presentation session also faced challenges. They had to answer questions from students that were considered quite tricky. However, thorough preparation enabled them to navigate the situation well.
Although they brought home medals, they did not receive a trophy. For Meysila and Nazila, this result is no reason to stop achieving. Currently, they are prioritizing their preparation for the TKA (Teacher's College). Nazila also aims to focus more on Physics.
"Don't be afraid to try. Everyone is a novice at first. Winners are those who dare to fail," they advised.
This achievement proves that Al-Amin students are capable of developing their academic potential, are willing to compete, and continue to learn from every step of the process.
